What's your role at SisAdmin?
I spend most of my days at SisAdmin solving issues that come into the HelpDesk during office hours, monitoring client networks, working on projects,
and generally assisting with sales and office duties.
What's your background?
I graduated in May of 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.
Seems like an odd major for someone working in the technology
field, but technology has always been an interest in my life.
I contemplated a variety of majors while in college (from Creative
Writing to Environmental Studies to Computer Science) and finally
settled on Sociology as the best overall fit for my interests.
Over the years I have custom built four computers for myself
and my family, worked as a web designer on a couple of projects,
and have generally acted as the local tech support for those
who know me.
Why IT?
Computers and technology have been a part of my life ever since I started using computers. I have always had an intuitive understanding of how computers work and program controls.
Even if I have never used a program before, if it is a well designed program, I can usually figure out how to use its basic functions quite quickly.
Since it seems that technology is an interest and ability of mine that hasn't gone away, I might as well put my skills and abilities to use.
What are your hobbies?
A large part of my free time is spent at the barn riding and caring for my horse. While, I admit, I do find this activity much more enjoyable in the beautiful summer months,
I do my best to be at the barn during the dreary winter months as well. The rest of the time I can usually be found at home in front of my computer, with a good book,
watching a movie or out socializing with friends.
